Leicestershire CCC has announced that all-rounder Abdul Razzaq will be the Club’s second overseas player for the Friends Life t20 tournament.
Razzaq, who has played 26 t20 internationals for Pakistan, was part of the Hampshire Royals side that won the tournament last summer.
The 31-year-old has a career t20 strike rate of 143.63 in 71 games and has claimed 79 wickets in that time. Razzaq’s economy rate in t20 internationals is under seven runs per over and he has often opened the bowling for Pakistan.
Razzaq has a domestic t20 hundred to his name and is renowned for his power hitting and reverse swing bowling at both ends of an innings.
Razzaq is a deceptively quick bowler who has two four-wicket hauls under his belt and a career t20 bowling average of 19.64.
The all-rounder has lots of international experience; he has played in 46 test matches, 262 ODIs and those aforementioned 26 T20Is, including three ICC World Cups and two ICC World twenty20 Cups.
He registered a highest test score of 134 and has a best bowling performance of 5-35. Razzaq has three test centuries and three ODI tons to his name, while his best first-class score is 203*.
Razzaq, who has also appeared for Surrey, Worcestershire and Middlesex in county cricket, has claimed eleven five-fors in his first-class career as well as 13 four-wicket hauls in one-day cricket.
The all-rounder brings a wealth of knowledge and quality to Grace Road and Leicestershire CCC is thrilled to have Razzaq on board.
