Adelaide Strikers opts to bat against Brisbane Heat

Adelaide Strikers won the toss and elected bat against the Brisbane Heat in the KFC T20 Big Bash League match at Brisbane Cricket Ground, Woolloongabba, Brisbane.

The Strikers are without Aidan Blizzard tonight while regular keeper Adam Crosthwaite has a side strain. Tom Cooper to take the gloves this evening.

Strikers have leg spinner James Muirhead making his debut. It is the final game for Johan Botha before returning home for ODI duty.

Steve Paulsen gets his first game for the Heat tonight. The Heat are without there three international stars, Brendon McCullum and Daniel Vettori are on New Zealand domestic duties, while Roelof van der Merwe has been stood down for one match after failing a roadside breath test on Sunday.

The Heat are desperate for a win tonight because a loss will effectively end their campaign. They’ve had three straight losses to start and with just four games remaining, form needs to change tonight.
