Saeed Ajmal, the off-spinner of Pakistan, won’t be playing 3-match series’ opening Test opposing to New Zealand which will begin tomorrow because of his father’s sudden death in his home country.
On Tuesday, the father of Ajmal had passed away after he was taken to the hospital for a fever treatment. Ajmal is said to fly back to Pakistan so he can attend his dad’s funeral.
A PCB official said that Ajmal is very devastated by the death of his dad, who passed away after being brought to the hospital, complaining of fever due to the very cold weather.
The off-spinner played in the 3-day match opposing to New Zealand Cricket XI that lasted on Tuesday but didn’t bowl in the game’s 2nd innings.
The Pakistan team chose Abdur Rehman to take over the place of Ajmal.
