Indian batsman Virat Kohli, who was fined half of his match fee on Thursday for responding to barracking from the crowd by gesturing at them with his middle finger on day two of the second Test, did not receive support from legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.
NDTV had wrongly reported that Amitabh Bachchan had tweeted in support of Virat Kohli showing the middle finger to crowds in Australia.
The news was wrong, Mr Bachchan’s tweet was only to express support to the Indian cricket team.
“Just ignore criticism… It’s there so you can prove it wrong! You are great humans… We adore you! Play well we are with you,” tweeted Bachchan.
BIG B acknowledged NDTV for sending an apology on a misquote.
“Need to acknowledge NDTV for sending an apology on a misquote they broadcast of mine on the Virat Kohli finger matter ..rare gesture”, tweeted Bachchan.
“Thank you NDTV for your apology ! There aren’t many brave and honest enough to have done so ..”
