Australia rest Hussey for ODI against India

Australia have decided to rest veteran batsman Michael Hussey for the tri-series one-dayer against India on Sunday.

Hussey will be back for Australia’s next match against Sri Lanka in Sydney on February 17.

Apart from Hussey, pacers Ben Hilfenhaus will also sit out of Sunday’s match.

“Mike Hussey is to be rested and will not travel with the squad to Adelaide while Ben Hilfenhaus has returned to Hobart and will not join the squad for tomorrow’s match,” Cricket Australia said.

All-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been added to the 12-man squad in place of Hussey and Hilfenhaus.

Uncapped batsman Peter Forrest has again been named in the squad.

Cricket Australia will name its squad for the next phase of the Commonwealth Bank Series on Monday.

Australia: Michael Clarke (c), Dan Christian, Xavier Doherty, Peter Forrest, Ryan Harris, David Hussey, Mitchell Marsh, Clint McKay, Ricky Ponting, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, David Warner.
