Australia win toss and bat against India

Australia won the toss and chose to bat in the opening Test against India at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

Michael Clarke was passed fit to lead Australia after recurring hamstring problems, while paceman Josh Hazlewood and batsman Shaun Marsh were left out of the starting XI.

“The wicket looks fantastic, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ground that looked as good as this,” says Michael Clarke.

“Both teams are excited to start the Test. We’re going to have to bat well today. We’re ready to go, the boys are excited, the players, the public the media, all are excited to get on with the game.

“What’s most important and what I know my little buddy would want is going out and playing cricket. I think the boys are fully fit and looking forward to another exciting summer.”

India opted to give leg-spinner Karn Sharma his Test debut with Ishant Sharma, Varun Aaron and Mohammed Shami to spearhead the pace attack.

Virat Kohli, captaining India for the first time in Tests, said, ”It’s a pleasure for me, my first Test hundred was on this ground. Very special for me. Great way to get onto the field.

“I knew Phillip, he was one of the guys I spoke to more than most. He asked for my bat in a home game in Jaipur and I wish I’d given it to him.

“We’ve got more days than expected to prepare, had a couple of games where the guys have done well. Couldn’t wait to get onto the field. We’ve got the leggie playing today, Karn Sharma.”

Australia win toss, bowl first against India

Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first against India in their World Twenty20 Group 2 game at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

India have made two changes. Ajinkya Rahane replaces Shikhar Dhawan while Mohit Sharma replaces Mohammad Shami.

India captain MS Dhoni said, “As the tournament progresses, the wickets will slow down even more. Today the dew is not much but it’s nothing compared to Chittagong.

“Anyway we wanted to bat first today. Let’s not look at a great total, just look to bat well and analyse later.

“We have a couple of changes. Rahane replaces Shikhar and Shami makes way for Mohit.”

Australia captain George Bailey said, “It seems that the ball is coming on to the bat in the night.

“The Indians are one of the favourites for the title. We need to be at our best.

“We are playing White in place of Faulkner.”

Australia opt to bowl against India in 3rd ODI

Australia won the toss and chose to bowl against India in the third one-day international at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Saturday.

Both India and Australia are playing with the same playing XI that played in the previous game.

Australia captain George Bailey said, “3 from 3 (on winning the toss), we are having a bowl today.

“It is a very beautiful wicket. The dew can come in late, we’ve played some good cricket. Happy with where we are. We are going with the same XI. It is a hard ground to defend.”

India captain MS Dhoni said, “We are going in with the same team. We were looking to bowl first because of the dew factor. But it is good that the bowlers will get some exposure today.

“The pitch has a decent grass cover. Usually it is a good batting track but at the same time there will be something for the quicks.

“It is difficult for the bowlers with 5 fielders in the ring. Especially the spinners, they try to bowl flat and flat and of course the T20 influence is always there.”

India vs Australia 2nd ODI Live Streaming

Australia won the toss and chose to bat against India in the second one-day international at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday.

Australia captain George Bailey said, “We will have another bat. It was a great all-round team effort at Pune. 300 today would be great and puts the pressure on the Indian batters.

“Some of the guys (Watson and Faulkner) were here before (they played for Rajasthan a couple of weeks ago in the World T20 League) so they gave us their inputs. It is a great start to go 1-0 up we would like to make it 2-0. We are unchanged for today.”

India captain MS Dhoni said, “We would have bowled first. We played well till the 25th over and after that played some poor shots at Pune. There were negatives but also some positives from the last game.

“There will be some dew around later in the day. It is a long series so we will look to level the series and then look for the remaining 5 matches. We are playing the same side.”

India vs Australia 1st ODI Live Streaming (October 2013)

Australia won the toss and decided to bat against India in the first one-day international at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Sunday.

Australia captain George Bailey said, “We will bat first. There is a little bit more grass on this one than we normally see in Pune.

“It is a big game and it is very important to start the series on a positive note. Maxwell is in for Clarke.”

India captain MS Dhoni siad, “We were looking to bowl first because of the dew factor. We just need to keep our heads calm and build some partnerships.

“The bowling just needs to improve a bit but on the whole, we have done well. We are looking like a very good fielding side in the world now. That crucial run-out in the middle could turn things around.

“We are going in with an unchanged squad that played the T20 game.”
