Ben Hilfenhaus will replace the injured Brett Lee in Australia’s ODI squad for Friday’s clash with Sri Lanka in Perth.
Lee suffered a broken toe during last Friday’s Twenty20 loss to India at the MCG, ruling him out for the rest of the summer.
“Ben will replace the injured Brett Lee,” said NSP chairman John Inverarity in a media release.
“The bowling attack for Perth is likely to be the same as the one that did so well in Melbourne and Ben will be in Perth to provide cover.”
X-rays confirmed a fracture of the small toe of Brett Lee’s right foot and he is expected to return to cricket in four to six weeks.
The NSP also confirmed that Mitch Marsh, who is currently playing for the Retravision Warriors in Queensland in a BUPA Sheffield Shield match, will join the squad in Adelaide for the 12 February fixture against India.
Australia takes on Sri Lanka in the third game of the Commonwealth Bank Series in Perth on Friday 10 February. India faces Sri Lanka on Wednesday 8 February in the second game of the Commonwealth Bank Series at the WACA in Perth.
