Caribbean T20 2012, Day 5 – Highlights

Trinidad & Tobago vs Guyana

Trinidad and Tobago won their second game of the Caribbean T20 by beating Guyana by seven wickets at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

Kevon Cooper picked up three wickets, and Dwayne Bravo grabbed two wickets giving away only 10 runs in three overs as they restricted Guyana to 101 for 9. Openers Sewnarine Chattergoon (20) and Trevon Griffith (31) added 35 runs for the opening partnership but other batsman expect Narsingh Deronarine, who remained unbeaten on 26, did not contribute.

In reply, T&T reached the score with 17 balls to spare with contribution from Lendl Simmons (30), Darren Bravo (22), Dwayne Bravo (18) and Kieron Pollard (21).

Canada vs Leeward Islands

Leeward beat Canada by 8 wickets and with 38 balls remaining at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

Canada, who won the toss and elected to bat, were bowled out 108 even though their openers, Hiral Patel and Zubin Sarkari, had laid a good foundation by adding 34. Gavin Tonge took three wickets, supported by Justin Athanaze and Larry Joseph, who picked up two each.

In reply, Leewards reached the target in in just 13.4 overs with opener Kieran Powell making an unbeaten 42 and Javier Liburd smashing 33 off 25 balls.
