Guyana vs Windward Islands

Windward Islands sealed their fourth straight win in the Caribbean T20, beating Guyana by five-wicket under the Duckworth-Lewis Method at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Guyana put on 140-8 in 20 overs on the back of opener Sewnarine Chattergoon (27) and captain Christopher Barnwell (32). Darren Sammy picked up 3 for 11, all of his wickets came in one over.

The Windwards’ innings was interrupted twice by rain but they managed to get to a revised target of 119 off 16 overs with a leg bye off the final delivery.

Johnson Charles scored 65 off 43 balls with three fours and three sixes. Devon Smith contributed with 25 not out.

West Indies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo claimed 3-15 for Guyana.

Trinidad & Tobago vs Canada

In another rain-affected match, Defending champions Trinidad & Tobago beat Canada by eight wickets on Duckworth-Lewis method at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Canada, after opting to bat, got off to a rousing start, their openers Hiral Patel and Ruvindu Gunasekera adding 43 for the first wicket. Dwayne Bravo changed the course of the innings with three quick wickets, Canada slumped badly losing nine wickets for just 56 runs.

No one else reached double-figures and Canada were kept to 99 for 9. Ravi Rampaul took 4-26 and Bravo 3-20.

In the run chase, Trinidad & Tobago lost two early wickets, and Adrian Barath to a controversial obstructing the field dismissal. Rain interruppted play in the 12th over and the target was revised to 91 in 18 overs.

Darren Bravo (42 not out) and Denesh Ramdin (30 not out) shared a stand of 59 to see their side home, reaching the revised target with only two wickets down and with 17 balls to spare.
