Paint Maker Crown Berger in partnership with Cricket Kenya has announced a sponsorship package of Kes 1.5million towards the upcoming new East African Cup and East Africa Premier League.
The partnership will see the listed firm associated with both the Twenty 20 East Africa Premier League and 50 over East Africa Cup. The competitions will feature six teams from Kenya and Uganda and will begin on August 20th 2011.
Crown Berger chief executive officer Rakesh Rao said the company were delighted to support this exciting new development for cricket in the East African region.
“We want to create competitiveness and nurture talent among the youth so that we can compete at international levels”, Rao added.
Cricket Kenya Chief Executive Tom Sears said, “We are very pleased to welcome Crown Berger on board as a major new partner to the East Africa Competitions.”
“Their involvement will provide a major boost to these events which are crucial to the development of the game in the region.”
This major new development for cricket in the region will feature top players from both countries and will be aired internationally.
All the teams in the competition will carry the Crown Berger brand as will the umpires and Crown Berger will also present a trophy to the player of the tournament in each event at the live televised finals in October.
