Pune Warriors invite Chennai Super Kings to bat

Pune Warriors India (PWI) won the toss and elected to field against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 24th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai.

Pune Warriors have left out Ashok Dinda, who has sustained a side strain. He has been replaced left-arm-spinner Murali Kartik.

Chennai Super Kings made three changes, Doug Bollinger, Shadab Jakati and Wriddhiman Saha are playing in place of Albie Morkel, Murali Vijay and Yo Mahesh.

Morkel had to return to South Africa to attend his close friend fd Louis Vorster’s funeral who was shot dead in Gauteng on Tuesday.

Pune Warriors India captain, Sourav Ganguly, said “We have played reasonably well, we are happy with the performance.

“It has been a balanced performance, we need to be more consistent.

“These are still early days and we need to play well on this Chennai wicket that looks good for 40 overs of cricket”

Chennai Super Kings captain, MS Dhoni, sad “It has been a tough journey, but we aren’t really disappointed.

“We haven’t lost in a stretch. Ups and downs are a part of the game. The hospitality is great, so the travel hasn’t been hectic either. Hopefully, we will get better.”
