Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the toss and elected to field against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 34th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.
Virat Kohli will lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in the absence of Daniel Vettori.
Vettori has been replaced by All-rounder Andrew MacDonald.
Chennai Super Kings have left out Doug Bollinger to include Albie Morkel.
Chennai Super Kings captain, MS Dhoni, said “The stats against Bangalore just show that we are executing our plans well but it doesn’t assure us victory in the future games though, so we just have to play well on the day.
“We want to get wins under our belt now so that we don’t have to play catch-up in the tournament later.
“We need to execute our plans against Gayle. We need to take him out or he will take you out of the game.”
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, Virat Kohli, said “Vettori has a hamstring niggle so I am taking over and McDonald also comes in for Dan.
“We will try our best in this game, Chennai is a really good team and we saw that in our last clash against them.
“The grass isn’t going to make much of a difference but I think the wicket might have some moisture on it which should help the bowlers.
“With McDonald coming in we have an extra batsman at number seven.”
