Kolkata Knight Riders defeated defending champions Decan Chargers by 11 runs in the first match of the Indian Premier League 2010 at Nerul’s DY Patil Stadium.

Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a bad start losing two wciekts for zero runs in the first over. KKR were able to make 161 for the loss of four wickets from twenty overs with the help of the fifties from Angelo Matthews and Owais Shah.

Deccan Chargers got off two a good start being 99-1 in 11 overs, but were able to make 150 for the loss of seven wickets from 20.0 Overs.

Angelo Mathews was declared the Man Of the Match.
