Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to field against Kings XI Punjab in the 52nd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.
Deccan Chargers fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of this tie due to injury.
Rusty Theron comes in for injured Steyn while Abhishek Jhunjhunwala replaces Anand Rajan.
Kings XI Punjab have made three changes bringing in David Miller, Siddharth Chitnis and Ramesh Powar for Gurkeerat Singh, Abhishek Nayar and Ryan Harris.
Kings XI Punjab captain, David Hussey, said “I am enjoying the role as a captain.
“Gilly was desperate to play tonight but the physio ruled him out. He should play the next fixture.
“We have got to do the hard yards and we need to win the next four.
“We would have batted first anyway.
“David Miller comes in for Ryan Harris, Sid Chitnis comes in and so does Ramesh Powar.”
Deccan Chargers captain, Kumar Sangakkara, said “We have played well but have failed to deliver at the crunch situations.
“I think we were in a position to be about seven places up but we haven’t fielded well enough.
“We have batted and bowled well but in tough situations the fielding matters and we have let ourselves down there.
“The deck looks like it will stay the same throughout. The par score is 150-160 so if we restrict them to anything below that, it will be great.
“We just need to trust what we are doing. Rusty Theron comes in.”
