Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 on Saturday at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, Daniel Vettori, said “Excited about the tournament. Gayle is not playing unfortunately.
“We look forward to play against them. Half our side played for Delhi so we know them quite well.
“We would have batted first had I won the toss.”
Delhi Daredevils captain, Virender Sehwag, said “It was a wonderful start for us this year. Hopefully we can deliver today also, it will be good to win.
“It looks like a good track to bat and bowl. There is a bit of grass but the batsmen can play the shots also.
“I’m feeling good, last game I scored 20 runs and I’m feeling good about my form. I’m not worried about the grass on the track, but the team which bats second generally wins the game.”
The DareDevils will be looking to continue their great start to the tournament after their eight wicket victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking to get their campaign off to a winning start.
Both these teams have played each other seven times. Delhi have won five times while Bangalore have won two.
