After getting ruled out of the last two matches of one-day series of Australia opposing to England because of back pain, spin bowler Xavier Doherty adds the World Cup’s injury woes.
Doherty was the second spinner who was injured in the series’ seven-match after the dislocation of shoulder of Nathan Haurtiz in the seconf game.
Alex Kountouris, a physiotherapist, said in a statement that the let-arm player had developed some back pain during the one-day game and didn’t able to train in Brisband that made his symptoms to improve.
He said that Doherty had tried some light training yesterday but his back was painful again. So the player is still unavailable for the next series’ two matches.
He added that Doherty’s return will be decided by monitoring the player’s recover over the week, next week.
