The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced England Development XI to face Sri Lanka A in a one-day fixture on August 8 at Old Trafford.
The England Development XI replaces Lancashire for the fixture against the tourists following the Red Rose’s qualification for the Friends Life t20 quarter finals.
David Graveney, national performance manager, said, “We have selected some very promising young cricketers for the England Development XI who have impressed in first class cricket this season.”
“The majority of players have been involved in the England Under-19 programme in recent years and this fixture is not only an acknowledgement of their progress since the U19s, it also provides an important opportunity for these players to impress selectors and the performance director David Parsons and the EPP coaching staff ahead of selection for the England performance programme this winter.”
