Session 1

At lunch, India were 165 for 6 with Virat Kohli (69*) and Vinay Kumar (6*) at the crease.

India, who lost Rahul Dravid (47) and MS Dhoni (2) in the first session, were still trailing by 43 runs to avoid an innings defeat.

Session 2

Australia beat India by an innings and 37 runs in the third test on Sunday to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the four-match series.

Paceman Ben Hilfenhaus (4-54) took three wickets in one over after lunch before Peter Siddle removed Virat Kohli for 75 to leave India all out for 171.
