Australia wins toss, elects to bat against India

Stand-in Australian captain Ricky Ponting won the toss and chose to bat against India in the 7th ODI of the tri-series at the Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday.

Left-arm paceman Ben Hilfenhaus replaced Clint McKay in the only change to the Australian XI which lost by eight wickets to Sri Lanka on Friday.

Indian opener Virender Sehwag was sidelined again with a back problem, leaving Sachin Tendulkar to open with Gautam Gambhir.

Zaheer Khan comes into the Indian eleven in place of Ravichandran Ashwin.

India with two wins from four matches currently lead the table with 10 points while Australia with nine points and Sri Lanka with seven points are second and third respectively.
