Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.
Ricky Ponting, Kieron Pollard, Mitchell Johnson and Jacob Oram are the four overseas players for Mumbai Indians.
Chris Gayle, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Muttiah Muralitharan and Daniel Christian are the four overseas players for Bangalore.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli said, “I have captained a few games in the previous seasons. I am part of this franchise from the beginning and I am proud to lead them.
“We have a strong side and we have to work hard on the field. We were looking to bowl first. I hope we can turn the tables on Mumbai. Gayle, Dilshan, Christian and Muralitharan are the four overseas players.”
Mumbai Indians captain Ricky Ponting said, “I played a few games in season one and I am looking forward to the sixth season.
“There is a little bit more grass on this deck. The scores are generally high at this venue. The new ball bowlers will look to exploit the conditions.”
