Ishant, Praveen injured ahead of 3rd Test

India’s medium pacers Ishant Sharma and Praveen Kumar received injuries ahead of the third cricket Test against the West Indies starting here Wednesday.

Ishant and Praveen injured themselves while playing football during a practice session at Windsor Park here Monday evening. During the game, Praveen Kumar accidentally head-butted the left cheekbone of Ishant.

Senior player Rahul Dravid said that Ishant’s injury is a minor one and will be healed before the match starts.

“It’s just a small bruise, little bit of a cut may be, but apparently it’s not very serious. So it should be okay. I think it’s a small cut underneath the eye,” said Dravid.

Ishant has so far picked up 16 wickets from the series which includes a 10-wicket haul in the Barbados Test.

The Third Digicel Test will be played at Windsor Park from Wednesday July 6thto Sunday July 10th.

India hold a 1-0 series lead in the three match series.
