Jacques Kallis, the leading all-rounder cricketer, has been sidelined for 2 weeks after suffering a rib injury while batting in the 1st innings during the 3rd Test opposing to India.
Kallis will consequently be out of the contention for the first 2 ODIs slated to start after the ongoing Test series.
Team manager Mohammed Moosajee said that Jacques had taken a blow to his chest’s side and had contusion on his right rib together with a muscle strain. He said that Jacques will be batting certainly if needed to in the 2nd innings. However, he said that he won’t be taking the field when India bats.
He further said that the recovery time of Jacques is around 2 weeks and he’ll probably be missing the first 2 ODIs.
