Jacques Kalles of South Africa had scored his 40th test hundred, surpassing Ricky Ponting of Australia in the batsmen list of most centuries in the game’s longer format.
Kallis is now 2nd to Sachil Tendulkar, who currently leads in the list with an incredible 51 hundred figure.
Pain was defied by Kallis in a unique determination exhibition, surpassing Ponting, who he was tied on 39 hundred after he scored 161 in the 3rd Test’s 1st innings opposing to India.
Kallis had also taken Harbhajan Singh of India away in the 94th over of the 2nd inning of South Africa, getting to the 3-figure mark.
He had also become the 6th South Africa to score centuries in a test match innings and also the 1st to do at home. Kallis has reached the feat 2 times now after scoring 100 and 150 in 2007 in Karachi.
