Mahela Jayawardene named Sri Lanka captain, Angelo Mathews his deputy

Mahela Jayawardene has been named captain of the Sri Lanka team for the upcoming tri-series in Australia, involving India as the third team.

Angelo Mathews was named vice-captain of the 15-member squad which also included Tillakaratne Dilshan, who has resigned as Sri Lanka captain.

Farveez Maharoof and Chanaka Welegedara have been recalled after having last played an ODI for Sri Lanka back in June 2010.

Maharoof and Welegedara were included in the squad in place of Kosala Kulasekara and Dilhara Fernando.

Thilan Samaraweera, who was ignored for the South Africa ODIs, was put on stand-by.
