Brendon McCullum will captain the Otago Volts in the 2011-12 HRV Cup and Aaron Redmond will captain the side in the Plunket Shield and One Day Competition.
Craig Cumming who has captained the side since 2002 has stood aside as captain, but is fully committed to playing for Otago in all three forms of the game.
Redmond who is currently playing in the UK said “It has always been my dream to captain a first class cricket side and I firmly believe there is no greater team and province to lead than Otago. I am deeply honoured to be given this opportunity to continue the great work that Craig has achieved and look forward to delivering the silverware for the province and it’s loyal supporters.”
McCullum added “We have some exceptional players throughout our squad, and I look forward to harnessing the strengths of our team, to give us the greatest chance of success in the HRV Cup.
