The Melbourne Stars have roped in England all-rounder Luke Wright as their first international signing ahead of the inaugural T20 Big Bash League.
Luke Wright is experienced Twenty20 player who has played 98 domestic matches as well as 30 Twenty20 Internationals for his country.
“Wright is an impressive young man who can open the batting or bowling”, said Melbourne Stars Coach Greg Shipperd.
“He provides options for the team as he can play any role through the middle to finishing overs. We are extremely pleased to have him as one of our foundation players.”
James Pattinson, John Hastings and Clint McKay have also been signed.

About Clint McKay: “Clint has been out of action for much of the season; however he has an impeccable one-day record for his country,” said Shipperd.
“He is another who possesses some quality variations as well as being a handy lower order hitter with clean hands and a strong arm.”
