Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to field against Chennai Super Kings in the 49th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Chennai Super Kings retained the same playing XI which beat Deccan Chargers while Mumbai Indians have made a couple of changes.
Left-arm placer RP Singh replaces off-spinner Pragyan Ojha. Dwayne Smith is also playing.
Chennai Super Kings captain, MS Dhoni, said “We’re going into the business end of the tournament.
“Most of the teams will want to finish in the top 4 and it’s important to peak at the right time and continue the momentum into the play offs.
“It looks like a good wicket, it generally is a sporting wicket. We were looking to bowl first also.
“Suresh Raina and myself are a bit unfit today but we’re still playing, it’s not a major issue.”
Mumbai Indians captain, Harbhajan Singh, said “Big game today. Chennai is a very good side and we need to play well.
“It’s an important phase of this tournament and every game matters for all the teams.
“Everyone is fit and we’re looking forward to the games. We’re bowling first.
“I’m not sure how the wicket will play, it’s always been easier to chase first.
“RP Singh replaces Ojha. Ojha bowled well but going by the wicket, we needed a seamer. Smith comes in and will play in the middle order.”
