Fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been left out of Australia’s team for the fourth cricket Test against India starting on Tuesday in Adelaide.
Starc will be 12th man, he has been replaced by offspinner Nathan Lyon as Australia chases a 4-0 series sweep against the Indians.
“We think that is the best XI to give us every chance to win this Test match,” Australian captain Michael Clarke told reporters in Adelaide on Monday.
“I think the experience of the other three quicks will play a big part in these conditions.
“The wicket looks really good and I think reverse swing is going to play a huge part in this Test match.”
Starc is expected to be released to play for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash final against the Scorchers on Saturday in Perth.
Australia: Michael Clarke (capt), Ed Cowan, David Warner, Shaun Marsh, Ricky Ponting, Mike Hussey, Brad Haddin, Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris, Ben Hilfenhaus, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Starc (12th man).
