The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had ignored Danish Kaneria and Shoaib Malik while the announced the 2011 World Cup preliminary squad, however, Kamran Akmal was included into the 30-player list.
One PCB source said that the said 2 players didn’t apparently satisfy the integrity committee of the cricket board about their recent activities; however, Akmal had won the Board’s confidence by sending all relevant needed documents that were asked by the integrity committee.
The selectors, as expected, include several new faces in the squad.
The Board sought a January 5 deadline from the ICC to finalize their squad due to the ongoing question opposing to Rana Naved, Kaniera, Malik and Kamran.
Apparently, Rana wasn’t found guilty against any links with the bookmakers. And he’s been listed in the squad.
