New South Wales batsman Phil Jaques, spinner Jason Krejza and Queensland paceman Ben Laughlin have joined the The Hobart Hurricanes.
Jaques said he was very excited about the opportunity of playing his Big Bash cricket in Hobart.
“I am looking forward to being part of the Hobart Hurricanes, we have a really good squad and I am sure the season will be a successful one, “Jaques said.
Hurricanes coach Ali de Winter said that Jaques will bring enormous experience to the Hobart Hurricanes batting line-up.
“He is a proven player at the highest level and has the ability to clear the boundary and make an impact at the top of the order,” de Winter said.
Queensland paceman Ben Laughlin, a former Australian Twenty20 representative who is regarded as one of the best finishers in the game, has also joined Hurricanes.
“His pace, variation and control are well suited to the shortest form of the game and he will form part of a bowling attack that has plenty of options and experience, ” de Winter said.
Coach Ali de Winter is expecting Jason Krejza to play a big role in the team with both bat and ball.
“We are expecting Jason to play a big role in our team with the ball and the bat. His signing gives the team a strength in spin bowling as well as his power hitting in the middle order, “de Winter said.
17 Hobart Hurricanes have now been confirmed and the left space will be filled when the contracting window opens again for all Big Bash League sides in December.
