Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl against Pune Warriors India in their IPL clash at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Friday.
Mumbai Indians, after winning their first match against Chennai Super Kings, made two changes as Munaf Patel replaced Abu Nechim while Suryakumar Yadav replaced injured Sachin Tendulkar.
Mumbai Indians Captain, Harbhajan Singh, said, “Nice to be back in Mumbai, looking forward to play in front of the home crowd.
“It was a good game for us, but we still have to come out and play good cricket. We’ll bowl first.
“It was important to win the first game but it is gone now, today is a very important game as well. We want to go out and give our best shot.
“The wicket is not going to change much, we have a strong batting line up so hopefully we can get some early wickets.”
Pune Warriors India captain, Sourav Ganguly, said “It’s great to be back on the playing field. This is a wonderful venue, India has done well here so it’s good to be here.
“We have more or less a same side as what we had last year. Yuvraj Singh is keeping well, our players are with him. Hopefully he gets back to the playing area soon.
“I will open the batting. I would have batted had we won the toss. It is hot, we have a good bowling attack.
“We’ve been training since 26th, but the first game is always a nervous one. Keen to play, hopefully we do well as a team.”
