Pune Warriors India elect to bat against Kings XI Punjab

Pune Warriors India won the toss and decided to bat against Kings XI Punjab in the eighth match of the Indian Premier League 2012 at Subrata Roy Sahara stadium on Sunday.

Ashish Nehra returns for Pune Warriors India, while Jesse Ryder also finds a place in Pune’s playing XI.

Shaun Marsh, on the other hand, misses out from Punjab’s line-up. Marsh has been replaced by Dimitri Mascarenhas.

Kings XI Punjab captain, Adam Gilchrist, said “This is an amazing stadium and the crowd are filling up very fast.

“Unfortunately, Shaun Marsh is out with a back injury and Mascarenhas replaces him.

“I am looking forward to having a good match. I also would have batted first, but we will try to restrict them under 160.”

Pune Warriors India captain, Sourav Ganguly, said “The stadium looks very good, though its not fully complete. I was happy to see a packed crowd in the last match.

“Still lot of cricket is left, but we will try to put up a consistent performance.

“We will bat. Ryder opens the batting today and Nehra is also back in the side.”
