The line-ups for the Ranji Trophy semi-finals to be played from 10th January 2012 to 13th January 2012 are confirmed.
Defending champions Rajasthan, Mumbai, Haryana and Tamil Nadu have entered the semifinals of the Ranji Trophy Cricket Championship.
In the semifinal, Mumbai take on Tamil Nadu at home while Rajasthan face Haryana away at Lahli, near Rohtak.
At Bangalore, Haryana completed victory over Karnataka inside three days to advance to the semifinals.
Karnataka 151 & 262 in 76.5 overs (R. Uthappa 53) lost to Haryana 272 & 144 for four in 36.2 overs (N. Saini 52).
At Hyderabad, Rajasthan sailed through in their quarterfinal match against Hyderabad on the basis of first innings lead.
Rajasthan 421 vs Hyderabad 144 in 55 overs (D.B. Ravi Teja 67, Arjun Yadav 42, Gajendra Singh four for 28) & 138 for no loss in 43 overs (Akshath Reddy 77 batting, Ravi Teja 58 batting).
At Indore, Mumbai entered the semifinals of the Ranji Trophy after gaining a huge 242-run first innings lead against Madhya Pradesh, at the Holkar Stadium.
Madhya Pradesh 192 & 250 for three in 64 overs (N. Ojha 85, Mohnish Mishra 61, Udit Birla 55) vs Mumbai 432 in 146.4 overs (Kaustubh Pawar 161, Hiral Shah 41, Dhawal Kulkarni 40, Ankit Chavan 102 n.o., T.P. Sudhindra five for 96).
At Chennai, Tamil Nadu entered the semifinals after consolidating their position in the first innings of the quarterfinal match against Maharashtra. Replying to Maharastra’s 232 all out, Tamil Nadu put on board 415 to take a handsome 183-run lead.
Maharashtra 232 & 90 for no loss in 29 overs (Chirag Khurana 55 n.o.) vs Tamil Nadu 415 in 143.2 overs (S. Badrinath 49, Yomahesh 59).
Peter Hartley of England will officiate in the semi-final at Mumbai, as part of the Umpire Exchange Programme between the BCCI and the ECB.
