Ricky Ponting scores first Test century in two years

 

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting scored his first Test century in two years on Wednesday.

He reached the milestone just after lunch on the second day of the second Test against India.

Ponting got out just before the break for 134 to end the fourth-wicket partnership with Michael Clarke at 288.

He was caught by Sachin Tendulkar in the second over of the new ball being taken by Ishant Sharma.

Ponting’s 225-ball innings consisted of 14 hits to the fence.
