Cricket legend Shane Warne said he was almost certain to make his comeback in Australia’s Twenty20 competition as planned, despite burning his hand badly while cooking.
Warne has declared himself a ’95 percent’ chance of lining up for the Melbourne Stars in their opening KFC Big Bash League match against the Sydney Thunder on Saturday night.
“Hand is going along fine, should be fine for Saturday,” he said.
“Basically they just drained all the blisters and then cut them all open so they won’t fill up again.”
“There’s just a couple of awkward ones on the spinning fingers, but hopefully in four days it should be fine.”
“Ninety five percent chance (of playing). I suppose just in case it gets infected because if that happens then I’ll be in a bit of trouble.”
Warne badly burnt his bowling hand while cooking breakfast on Monday morning and it was still heavily bandaged on Tuesday when he fronted the media following the Big Bash launch at the Eureka Tower.
