The dream of Sourav Ganguly, former India and KKR team captain, to play in Indian Prier League’s fourth edition had suffered a huge blow after the opposed ides of the three franchises to have the unsold players of India in the league.
It had come out at the Kochi IPL franchise’s backdrop that showed interest in Ganguly on playing for the team. It was then known that the BCCI had received a letter from the franchise stating that they’d include the Bengal player.
In turn, the BCCI had looked for several opinions from the franchises in which the three franchises objected to having the unsold players who include the southpaw for the cash-rich league.
Moreover, no franchise had showed its interest to buy Ganuly at US$ 400,000 as the player’s base price during the January 8-9 auction. Unsold players also include V R V Singh and Wasim Jaffer.
