Recently granted South African citizenship, the Pakistan-born cricketer Imran Tahir was identified in the 14-men squad for the upcoming ODI series, which will start on January 12, opposing to India.
Jacques Kallis wasn’t considered anymore due to his rib injury which he sustained in the 3rd Test while Mark Boucher has still remained out of the limited-over plans of South Africa.
Played in all the 3 Tests opposing to India, left-arm spinner Paul Harris had also been dropped.
With the inclusion of Tahir, the South African team will be having 3 spinners in the 14-men squad together with Faf du Plessis and Johan Botha.
The 5-match ODIA series’ 1st Test will be beginning on January 12 in Durban.
