Sreesanth, replacing Praveen in the WC squad

S Sreesanth was just recently named as the replacement of pacer Praveen Kamar, who sustained an elbow injury during the ODI series, in the Indian squad for the much-anticipated World Cup.

Praveen had failed on recuperating in time and was then ruled out after it was clear that he won’t be ready by the time their team will be playing their first World Cup game opposing to Bangladesh on Feb. 19.

BCCI Secretary N Srinivasan said that Praveen was ruled out because of his sustained elbow injury and the All-India Senior Selection Committee chose Sreesanth as the replacement for World Cup.

He added that the ICC just recently confirmed that Sreesanth can replace Praveen in the squad.
