Sydney Thunder bat first against Perth Scorchers

The Sydney Thunder won the toss and elected to bat against the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League match at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday.

West Indies big-hitter Chris Gayle, coming off a last-up duck, will open Thunder’s innings with dumped Australian Test batsman Usman Khawaja.

Trent Copeland is making his debut tonight for the Sydney Thunder, while the exciting Herschelle Gibbs hasn’t been named in the line up for the Perth Scorcher as he has a bruised heel.
