England elect to bowl against India in the Champions Trophy final

England won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the Champions Trophy final at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Sunday.

India are playing with an unchanged side while England made one change in their team with Tim Bresnan coming in place of Steve Finn.

England captain Alastair Cook said, “Everyone is ready and we have enjoyed the tournament. We will bowl first. The pitch has been under covers and there will be some help for the bowlers. Bresnan replaces Finn.”

India captain MS Dhoni siad, “We have done the small things right and we are looking forward to the game. It was an important toss. We would have bowled first. We are playing the same team.”

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene said, “We would have liked to bat first too but maybe it is a good toss to lose in the big game. Akila is in for Rangana Herath. It was a tough call. We are very excited.”

West Indies captain Darren Sammy said, “We are going to bat first. We bat well and it gives us a good chance here.

“The pitch is similar to the one we played against Australia. We are playing the same team.

“It is Dwayne Bravo’s birthday today and I would like to wish him now. Hopefully we come out on top.”

Asia Cup 2012 Final: India and Pakistan to meet in U19 final

India and Pakistan will meet in the final of the ACC U19 Asia Cup after both winning their respective semi-finals.

Pakistan claimed a comprehensive victory over Afghanistan by 151 runs. After making 293-3 off 50 overs, it then bowled out Afghanistan for 145 all out.

In the other semi-final, Sri Lanka made 244-7 off 50 overs, before India reached 247-4 off 47.1 overs.
