Champions League T20 (CLT20) 2013 Teams & Squads

The final squads for the Karbonn Smart Champions League Twenty20 2013, to be played in India from 17 September to 6 October.

Players who were named by more than one team were asked to select which team they were going to play for. Teams were then allowed to replace any player that withdrew from their squad and elected to play for another side.

CLT20 regulations state that when a player elects to play for their ‘away’ team, that team must pay the ‘home’ team $150,000 compensation per player. A ‘home’ team is classified as a team from the country a player is eligible to represent in international cricket.

This payment is applicable for 10 of the 12 players that were eligible for more than one team. The exceptions are Kumar Sangakkara, who will be representing Kandurata Maroons, which is classified as his home team, and Thisara Perera, who qualified for the Brisbane Heat and Hyderabad Sunrisers, neither of which is classified as his home team.

Pakistan name ODI and T20 squads for series against England

Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday announced squads for One Day International and T20 series against England in the UAE.

Pakistan’s former cricket captain Shoaib Malik has been dropped from the limited overs squad.

Shahid Afridi will join the squad in the UAE but there is no place for Abdul Razzaq.

Azhar Ali, who has played just one ODI, has been named in the ODI squad.

Ali has been rewarded for his century in the third Test. He made a patient 157 from 442 balls as Pakistan completed a 3-0 series whitewash.

Hammad Azam, who has played five ODIs but has not figured since playing against Ireland at Belfast last year, was named in both the ODI and Twenty20 squads.

Awais Zia is the only new name in the T20 reckoning after impressing selectors in domestic tournaments.

The first of four one-day matches will be played in Abu Dhabi on February 13. The ODIs will be followed by three Twenty20 internationals.

Ireland announce squads for Kenya and UAE

Wicketkeeper-batsman Niall O’Brien has not been picked in the Ireland squad for the tour of Kenya next month because of his involvement in the inaugural Bangladesh Premier League.

The tour to Kenya will include the third round of the ICC Intercontinental Cup four-day match, two World Cup qualifying ODIs as part of the ICC 50 over League, and three Twenty20s.

“There were difficult matters for the selectors to discuss regarding Niall O’Brien’s availability,” Phil Simmons, the Ireland coach, said in a release.

“They took on board Niall’s offer to play in only the ODI’s in Kenya, join the squad for part of the South Africa camp, and then the ICC World T20 Qualifier.

“However the selectors remained consistent to their principle, regarding that all players must be available for all parts of the tour.

“Niall was not able to make himself available for the whole tour and therefore the selectors have decided not to select him for any part of the tour including the ICC World T20 Qualifier.

“We are only selecting for this tour and the next selection will be for the RSA Challenge ODI versus Australia in June; at that point they will consider all available players.

“Niall has communicated that he still wishes to play for Ireland and the selectors will take that into consideration when they next meet.”

The selectors have also announced a provisional squad for 17 players for the ICC World T20 Qualifier in UAE and a final squad of 14 will be selected from this by February 12th. This squad will also participate in a warm-up preparation camp in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
