Cricket Tasmania has today announced two interstate signings to nearly complete the Tasmanian Tigers squad for the 2012-13 season.
Former West End Redbacks power hitter Aiden Blizzard and young New South Wales and Netherlands paceman Timm van der Gugten will both travel south to build on their successful careers to date.
Blizzard, an aggressive left handed batsman, moved from the Victorian Bushrangers to the West-End Redbacks in 2010.
A well-known Twenty20 player, Blizzard will be looking to build on the success he had in the longer forms of the game with the Redbacks.
21-year-old right-arm paceman, van der Gugten will also be looking to make a name for himself at Tigerland and follow in the footsteps of successful Tigers’ pacemen and former New South Wales residents Jackson Bird and Adam Maher.
Born in Sydney, van der Gugten holds a Netherlands passport and as a result has international cricket experience for Holland.
He also has Australian first-class experience as a former member of the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues for the past two seasons.
The final two signings for the 2012-13 Tigers squad will be announced tomorrow when the contracting window officially closes.
