Taylor and Walters, to be in the Hall of Fame

Mark Taylor, former captain, and Doug Walters, middle-order batsman, will soon be joining the cricketing greats’ elite group as they’ll be inducted in the Hall of Fame of Australian Cricket at the Allan Border Medal on Monday.

Taylor, 46, and Walters, 65, will be the 33rd and 34th players, respectively, included in the prestigious group that began in 1996 with ten inductees.

Selection panel chairman Bob Lloyd said that the inductees of this year include two cricketing icons of Australia who originated from New South Wales and who had a tremendous impact on Australian cricket.

Lloyd added that both of them have outstanding records; Taylor having over 7,500 runs and being one of the greatest captains of Australia, and Doug as the batsman who was entertaining and exciting, and had averaged 48,26 over 74 Test matches.
