Tim Paine shrugged off Waugh’s suggestion

Time Paine, Australian wicketkeeper, shrugged off the suggestion of ex-captain Steve Waugh that he could be the Test team’s captain-in-waiting.

However, Paine had emphasized that he was much more focused to get back into the team.

In an interview, Paine said that it’s great to hear people like Steve Waugh speak stuff like that. He added that people say what they want to say and there’s nothing much he can do about it.

The 26-year-old cricketer further said that he’s just trying to break back into the side of Australian and if he can do it and play well, then he’d be happy to consider for the job.

Paine will be leading the Board President’s XI opposing to England on January 10 at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
