India vs England 2nd T20 Highlights (22/12/2012)

England beat India by six wickets and leveled the two-match Twenty20 series 1-1 at the Wankhede Stadium here on Saturday.

Needing three off the last ball, Morgan hit Ashok Dinda for a straight six to seal the match in England’s favour by six wickets.

India beat England by five-wicket in the first of the two Twenty20 international at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium here Thursday.

Yuvraj Singh, man of the match, produced a brilliant all-round display as India finally brought about some cheer for their fans.

Yuvraj took three for 19 from his four overs to restrict England to a manageable 157 for six and then blasted 38 off 21 balls as the home team reached the target with 13 balls to spare.

India vs England, 1st Test – Highlights

Day 1

Virender Sehwag scored his 33rd Test as India came up with a solid batting display to take control of the first Test against England.

India’s innings was built around Virender Sehwag’s 23rd Test hundred (117), Cheteshwar Pujara’s unbeaten 98 and Gautam Gambhir’s 45.

Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli got out cheaply for 13 and 19 respectively.

India ended Day 1 at 323/4 with Graeme Swann picking all the four wickets that fell in the day.

Day 2

Starting from first day’s score of 323 for four, India declared their first innings with a huge total of 521 as Cheteshwar Pujara hit a patient 206 off 389 balls.

At the end of day two at Motera, England were 41 for three with Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen on crease.

Day 3

Pragyan Ojha produced one of his finest performances (5-45) to break the English middle-order. England faced the follow-on as they were all-out on 191 in reply of India’s 1st innings total of 521.

Batting in the second innings England were 111 without losing any wicket at the end of Day 3 of Ahmedabad Test.

Day 4

After being all out for 191 in the first innings, they came out and erased the 330-run deficit, overhauling the 521-run target to ensure India bats again.

Alastair Cook scored his third century against India. He was unbeaten at 168 and Matt Prior, 84 not out, gave him a solid company.

Day 5

England were all out for 406 in their second innings at lunch on the fifth and final day of the first Test.

Chasing 77 runs to win India only lost the wicket of opener Virender Sehwag who scored 25 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara 41 and Virat Kohli 10 completed the chase in 15.3 overs to hand India a 1-0 lead in the four match Test series.

Cheteshwar Pujara was declared the Man of the Match for scoring 206 in the first and 41 in the second innings.
