The Retravision Warriors will play three-day and one-day matches against Queensland and New South Wales next month leading into the start of the 2011-12 interstate season in October.
Retravision Warriors Head Coach Mickey Arthur says the matches will be a vital lead in to the new summer of cricket.
“The boys have been training hard since the end of May but they need to get some good solid playing time outdoors before the start of the season,” Arthur said.
“In the past we have travelled to Malaysia and played intra-squad matches, but playing against other interstate sides will be far more beneficial and give us a better indication of where the guys are at.
“We will take a squad of 15 to Queensland and are looking forward to seeing how some of the new squad members fare on the trip.
“Hopefully the Perth weather is kind to us when we welcome New South Wales to the WACA Ground and they will provide a solid test for our guys.
“I am really happy with how the boys are progressing in their pre-season training. They have worked really hard and I am very confident they will be set to go when the season kicks off in October.”
The Warriors travel to Brisbane to take on the XXXX GOLD Queensland Bulls at the University of Queensland. A three-day match takes place from Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 September, and then a one-day match on Friday 9 September.
The NSW RTA SpeedBlitz Blues will meet the Warriors at the WACA Ground for a three-day encounter from Saturday 17 to Monday 19 September and a one-day match on Wednesday 21 September.
