Wasim Akram, former Paksitan captain, had backed Shahid Afridi on Thursday on leading the side for World Cup and had hit out the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the delay of the appointment.
The legendary left-arm pace bowler said that Pakistan can be dangerous and nobody can write off altogether the chances of the team in the World Cup. He said that the team has the capability on performing well; however, the team captain first and foremost has to be named.
Akram further said that the team still doesn’t have a captain even though the tournament is 15 days near already. He doesn’t know the reasons of the delay and he thinks that Shahid Afridi is really undergoing under pressure. He added that the sooner the captain is name, the better for the Pakistan team.
