Zaheer Khan nominated for Arjuna Award

The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has nominated Zaheer Khan for the Arjuna Award for 2011.

Zaheer was the mainstay of Indian bowling attack during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. He was the joint-leading wicket taker with 21 wickets along with Shahid Afridi. Zaheer was given second position for higher average.

The Arjuna Awards is given by the government of India to recognize outstanding achievement in National sports.

The award carries a cash prize of Indian Rupee Rs 500,000, a bronze statuette of Arjuna and a scroll.
